TOKYO, July 28 Asia Pulse - Japan's eAccess Ltd. (TSE:9427) likely made a group pretax profit of around 1.8 billion yen (US$18.9 million) in the April-June period thanks to the acquisition of ADSL service provider Acca Networks Co. and smaller losses in its cellular phone business.
The results would mark the telecommunications service provider's first pretax profit for the April-June quarter in three years. The company posted a pretax loss of 1.5 billion yen a year earlier.
Sales appear to have declined 11 per cent to about 21.5 billion yen as low-priced data cards accounted for a higher proportion of the company's overall cellular phone hardware sales. ...
