There was much more than football on Randy Coleman's mind when he interviewed for the Jonesboro head football coaching job in February 2008.
While Coleman was a Jonesboro alum and considered the position a dream job, he had a bigger concern. At the same time he was interviewing for the JHS job, Coleman and his wife, Raney, were balancing time at the hospital with their 3-year-old daughter, McKenley, who was hospitalized for four days with a respiratory infection.
McKenley's health improved and Coleman soon proved to be an easy hire for Jonesboro.
