July 29, 2009 (FinancialWire) -- Alcoa (NYSE: AA) has appointed Nicholas DeRoma as its executive vice president, chief legal and compliance officer. He formerly served as chief legal officer of Nortel Networks Corp. (NYSE: NT).

Prior to joining Nortel, DeRoma had a 25-year career at IBM (NYSE: IBM), where he served in posts in Europe, Asia and North America.
