Jerome Kerviel, the trader blamed by Societe Generale for a e4.9 billion (R54bn) loss last year, repeated arguments in a court filing that his superiors knew about his activities.

Kerviel never tried to hide his trading and about 300 people at the French bank would have had access to the positions entered on his computer, his attorney, Olivier Metzner, said in an interview yesterday.

Metzner filed arguments to a Paris court rebutting prosecutors' recommendation that Kerviel be tried for abuse of trust, falsifying documents and computer hacking.
