Following over a decade of development, the US Army has issued contracts that will transition the AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopter into full-rate production, with the first systems scheduled for delivery in November. The Army's Aviation and Missile Command (Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL) let three contracts totaling over $765 million for passive RF targeting systems, Longbow radars and Hellfire RF-guided missiles.
