VIRGINIA BEACH - Timothy Ray Strickland, 51, died July 29, 2009, at River Pointe Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Born in Pickens County, Alabama, he was the son of the late LaVera M. Pennington. He was a boiler technician in the U.S. Navy and worked for the Big Bethel Water Works and was very involved at the Langley Speedway working on the Danny's Glass pit crew for Car 26. Timothy had a strong religious faith that has kept his spirits up during his illness and that faith was supported by his church families at Messick Baptist Church in Poquoson and Bayside Christian Church in Virginia Beach.
