AN ITALIAN film festival in the form of Italian Cinema Selexion 2009 invades the city from Tuesday until Sunday at the new independent cinema at Woodlands Boulevard Centre, Movies@Woodlands.

It's a chance for movie enthusiasts to enjoy some of the best films Italy has to offer this year. On opening night Pretoria audiences can mingle with the director of The Sicilian Girl, Marco Amenta as well as Piero Cannizzaro, the director of the musically rich documentary La Notte della Taranta and Return to Kurumuny.

There's also a special screening of the winning film from the Cape Winelands Film Festival, The First Day of Winter ...
