LEOMINSTER - A new Leominster team hopes to make a big splash.
The Leominster Recreation Department swim team was formed this summer. The young squad is based out of the Leominster State Pool on Viscoloid Avenue.
This new team, which includes young swimmers ages 6 to 12, practices from 5 to 6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays.
They will compete for the first time Aug. 8 in a meet against other area swim teams.
For coach Karri Charpentier Legault, who swam competitively for 17 years, the swim team is a welcome addition to the city's sports scene. The squad is the only ...
