Russian stocks opened higher on Thursday with the blue chips gaining up to 3% in the first minutes of trading led by metals and oil and gas stocks.
The MICEX index was up 1.26% to 999.24 points as of 10:32 a.m.
Advancers included Severstal (RTS: CHMF) - up 3.16%, Tatneft (RTS: TATN) - up 2.1%, MMC Norilsk Nickel (RTS: GMKN) - up 1.9%, Transneft (RTS: TRNF) preferred stock - up 1.5%, Lukoil (RTS: LKOH) - up 1.4%, Gazprom (RTS: GAZP) - up ...
