BAHRAIN is preparing itself for an increase in the number of patients by securing more isolation wards and taking steps to isolate and treat low-risk cases at home. Health Ministry officials have said low-risk patients with mild cases will be isolated in their homes as the cases increase.
Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) infection control head Dr Jameela Al Salman said because only a handful of cases were being reported on a daily basis all were being isolated and treated in the isolation units of Ward 13 at the SMC and the Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Community Health Centre, which between them have 60 beds.
Patients are given Tamiflu twice a day for five days. ...
