During the last "Gulf War," I was invited by CNN to have a debate with Charlton Heston on the subject--it was obviously H day in the Atlanta Desert Storm Rolodex--and decided, in the shower that morning, that I would challenge him on what he knew rather than what he thought. (It's not every day, after all, that one is asked to dispute Middle Eastern questions with Moses himself, let alone with the front man for the pinpoint accuracy of the National Rifle Association.)
