YENNIFER Hernandez has one of the less glamorous jobs on the planet - meticulously sifting though mounds of hyena faeces to extract the remains of prey items in the name of scientific research.
So it was a moment of some excitement - or at least significant variation - for the temporary field assistant at Dr Ingrid Wiesel's Brown Hyena Research Project in Luderitz, Namibia, when she came across a ring in one particular scat, as the faeces are more correctly termed in the scientific community.
