LOS ANGELES, April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- ARCO (NYSE: ARC) announced today it has entered into a long term agreement with Envirotest Systems Corp. (Amex: ENR), a leader in vehicle emissions testing, under which Envirotest will operate up to 80 test-only emissions stations in California.
Under the agreement with ARCO, Envirotest will operate under ARCO's "SMOGPros Test-Only" trademark. Initially, ARCO will be leasing facilities in the Southern California counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura. The agreement will have an initial term of ten years with an option for Envirotest to extend for an additional five years.
