DEALING with a good estate agent can transform what for many is an arduous task: finding the right home at the right price.
Selecting the right agent reduces the stress of a property deal and saves time and money, according to Willie Marais, the president of the Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa (Ieasa).
He said the personal recommendation of an agent was worth gold, as was an agent with good knowledge of local stock and who was comfortable with technology.
Chris Tyson, MD of Tysons, said buyers preferred agents who made them feel comfortable and were active where they were hunting.
