MANILA, July 31 (PNA) -- Filipino boxers and taekwondo jins are both set to undergo month-long international trainings as part of their preparation for the world championship meet.
The RP pugs are bound for Cuba by next week before seeing action in the 2009 AIBA World Championships in Milan, Italy from Aug. 31 to Sept. 13 while the jins are going to Korea prior to competing in the 2009 World Taekwondo Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark on Oct. 14-18.
The Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) will send nine boxers to Havana, including two-time Olympian Harry Tanamor. The contingent will leave for the Cuban capital on August 7.
