Crews will begin working on the southern stretch of the Crosstown Expressway project this fall. Members of the Transportation Commission on Monday approved a $63 million contract.

Work will begin connecting two standing access bridges at Lincoln Boulevard and Agnew Avenue. The two structures stand near the existing Interstate 40 route and are part of a massive realignment project for the busy highway.

The project awarded on Monday is just over a mile, stretching from Producers Cooperative Oil Mill south of Bricktown west to Classen Boulevard, said John Bowman, project development manager for the Department of Transportation. ...
