It started innocently enough - Amber Roelfs was walking around Madison when she found some discarded wood. A painter who loves texture, Roelfs began experimenting with different canvases, painting on wood and glass.
It wasn't long before people noticed her work and began offering Roelfs their old windows. She still has about 40, some of them more than six feet tall, ready to become oil paintings. The windows, showing now at Absolutely Art, are as fragile as the subject matter is ethereal.
