WEST BROOKFIELD - Artist Gail Bruce of West Brookfield said Grandma Moses influenced her to stop painting for a time.
"Grandma Moses made it OK for me to put down my paint brushes for quite a few years while I helped build the American Indian College Fund and create the American Indian Higher Education Consortium Cultural Centers. Grandma Moses didn't begin painting until she was 64 years old and she luckily had a 40-year career and painted until she was 104.
