A magnetic resonance imaging system for diagnostic imaging and biopsy of the breast tissue, which features an immobilization system that includes several integral parts made of modified polyetheretherketone (PEEK) has been developed by Invivo Corp of Orlando, Florida, USA. The company says these unreinforced modified PEEK parts--ratchet springs, fiducial body markers, and lock levers--have high rigidity, chemical resistance and superior hydrolytic stability.
