It wasn't too long ago that the New Jersey Nets were running television ads urging basketball fans to come to the Continental Arena to see Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing and Shaquille O'Neal play. The only problem was that none of them were Nets.
"I'm not sure we had a lot of fans, says Nets President Michael R. Rowe, recalling the team's plight when he took over the organization three years ago. "We were apologizing about our product by selling the visiting team."
This season, however, Mr. Rowe isn't making any apologies. The Nets are battling for a playoff berth and finally have their own crop of young stars, Like forward Keith Van Horn and guard Kerry ...
