LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 22, 1998--Herbalife International Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:HERBA)(Nasdaq/NM:HERBB) Wednesday reported a 26 percent increase in earnings per share for the first quarter ended March 31, 1998, representing the company's tenth consecutive quarter of comparable period increases in sales and earnings.

Net income for the first quarter increased 24 percent to $14.8 million, or $0.48 per diluted share, from $11.9 million, or $0.38 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 1997.
