Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) and SafeNet Inc. recently partnered to demonstrate a new technology that secures radio communication among warfighters.
Raytheon exhibited its DragonFire family of radios with SafeNet's Type 1 encryptor at the U.S. Army Cryptographic Modernization Technology Day in June 2009 at Fort Monmouth, N.J. Together these technologies provide secure streaming video and data, in a mobile ad hoc network environment, on various platforms such as fixed and rotary wing aircraft, light armored vehicles and fixed locations.
Type 1 qualification is provided by the National Security Agency and authorizes equipment for handling classified data.
