A THUG who stabbed a boy to death in a school playground was yesterday jailed for life - after being found guilty of his murder for the second time.
Derek Ferguson's first conviction for killing 16-year-old Steven Pettigrew was overturned when appeal judges ruled the jury had been misdirected.
But following a retrial at the High Court in Glasgow, he was again found guilty yesterday and ordered to serve at least 18 years of a life sentence.
Ferguson attacked Steven on April 1, 2005 - only months after being released early from an eight-year prison term for a horrific axe attack on another man.
