Eggs, eggs, and more eggs were all around Easter Bunny's little house. For it was the night before Easter, and he was ready to take them to the homes of sleeping children.
Hard-boiled eggs dyed in solid colors and fancy eggs with flowers of every shade and kind stood waiting to be packed into his basket. Easter Bunny had worked hard for a great many days to finish them.
"It has been a lot of work," said Mrs. Bunny, as she untied his big blue apron. "But you do make such wonderful, good-to-eat eggs! Very specially good they are this year, too. Better than ever!"
"I don't think so," said Easter Bunny, a little crossly. "I don't like them."
