When describing the true extensions of today's Latin jazz, one must o beyond the customary Cuban and Brazilian styles that dominate said genre. In cities as diverse as Buenos Aires, York, Lima, San Juan and Madrid, one finds remarkable musicians who have expanded the boundaries of Latin jazz beyond the two prevailing formats.
Ironically, when analyzing the stylistic expansion of Latin jazz, it becomes evident that one of the musicians who has been more successful in said artistic endeavors happens to be Cuban by birth.
