DAX Index futures expiring in September gained 0.7 percent to 5,396.00 as of 8:24 a.m. in Frankfurt. The DAX fell 1.2 percent to 5,353.01 yesterday.

Air Berlin Plc (AB1 GY): Europe s third-biggest low-cost carrier said July passenger numbers fell 3.3 percent to 2.81 million as capacity was reduced 3.4 percent. The shares climbed 7 percent to 3.52 euros.
