When planning our garden, our focus used to be almost exclusively on vegetables. We'd comb the seed catalogues and get several varieties of each veggie and start them from seed ourselves.
But when it came to flowers, well, that was another story. Who had time and space for a variety of flowers? As lovely as they were to look at, you couldn't eat them. It was enough for us to buy some marigold plants an pop a few in here and there. After all we had peonies all over the side yard Who needed more than that?
Fortunately, we moved to a much bigger property and were inspired to try planting a wildflower bed. We planted cosmos, larkspur, cleome, yarrow, ...
