Forgotten in the Hubbub over First Commercial Corp.'s purchase by Regions Financial Corp. and Alltel Corp.'s plans to buy 360 [degrees] Communications Co. is the effect of these moves on the Little Rock advertising agency that has served both Alltel and First Commercial for more than three decades.
Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods has been involved with the company now called Alltel since 1964, says-Cranford president and CEO Frank Cox, and has handled advertising for First Commercial and one of its predecessors, First National Bank, since the early 1960s. For Cranford, it seems, the proposed acquisitions hold both trouble and opportunity.
