Mary Ann Weston's book, Native Americans in the News: Images of Indians in the Twentieth Century Press provides much more than a lesson in political correctness. In addition to detailing the history of Native Americans and their press coverage from the 1920s through the 1990s, Weston's book explores how journalistic practices have been used to reinforce stereotypes and studies the history of criticism of media coverage of minorities.
