Chilean generator AES Gener's Alto Maipo project will not affect potable water supply in capital Santiago, sanitation services authority SISS head Magaly Espinosa said, according to a report in paper Estrategia.
According to Espinosa, AES Gener is taking the necessary measures to guarantee potable water supplies to the capital. However, she admitted that SISS understood the concerns of Santiago water utility Aguas Andinas, which publicly rejects the 530MW, US$700mn hydropower project.
