BEDFORD, Mass., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Opta Food Ingredients, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPTS) announced today that it has significantly extended its product line by obtaining an exclusive sales and marketing agreement with Brazilian- based Blanver Farmoquimica Ltda. Under the agreement, Opta will market and distribute Blanver's microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) food ingredients to food companies in North America. Opta estimates that the current market for MCC in food applications exceeds $40 million in the U.S. alone.
