LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 7, 1998--In a move that demonstrates its growing influence both here and internationally, Sanwa Bank California's investment management arm has been hired by a major Japanese investment firm to be an adviser for a pair of new mutual funds that are being offered to the Japanese public for the first time today.

Tokyo-based Partners Investment Trust Management Ltd., formerly known as Yamaichi Investment Trust Management Co., said the two funds will consist of a U.S. bond fund and a global equities fund. Richard Weiss, senior vice president at Sanwa Bank California, will serve as investment adviser for the new funds.
