This year 1,048 Minnesota schools did not make "adequate yearly progress" as required by the federal No Child Left Behind law. All public and charter schools are evaluated on categories such as testing, attendance or graduation rates. But only those that get federal Title 1 aid are subject to the penalty phases. This page shows the schools in the 11-county metro area that did not meet their goals. Schools marked with an asterisk (*) have met their goals for 2009, but must meet goals again next year to no longer face consequences. The results here do not include 189 schools statewide for ...
