Market unveils investor statistics
LONDON - LIMIT P.L.C. is the first institutional investor to control more Lloyd's of London capacity than any other market entity, 1998 capacity data shows.
U.S. and Bermuda-based insurers also are becoming a greater force in the market, and many investors are strengthening their position by combining the capacity under their control into fewer syndicates.
Figures on the breakdown of market capacity were obtained by Business Insurance last week from Lloyd's Corporate Membership Unit and Lloyd's press office. Lloyd's still will be finalizing some of the figures this week.
