A medium-sized electric poles company in Kenya is preparing to go regional, in the spirit of the East African Co-operation.

To do this, Muringa Holdings recently got the Kenya Bureau of Standards Diamond Mark of Quality.

The company has for the past five years been one of the leading, private distributors of electric poles in Kenya, especially in rural areas.

Last year, it reported a turnover of Ksh250 million ($3.1 million) and employed about 150 people.

It plans on going public in the next three years to raise capital to grow further.
