By any measure, the Industrial Distributor Co-Opor IDCO for shorthas been a success, according to the group's president.

Chartered in 1992, the purchasing cooperative primarily concentrates on buying for its members industrial and hydraulic hose, fittings and accessories, reaching what it calls "endorsed supplier agreements with nearly 80 companies that provide those goods, said IDCO President Robert Lyons.

The co-op boasts 51 member distributors representing 110 shipping locations. The average annual revenue for members is about $11 million to $12 million, but go as small as about $1.5 million while a couple have sales ...
