Diane Sicko, 58, of Defreestville, a disabled Air Force veteran, earned four medals in the 29th National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Spokane, Wash.
Sicko, who has multiple sclerosis, earned a gold medal in bowling, a silver medal in motor road rally, a bronze medal in shot put and a bronze medal in discus. The games were held July 13-18.
She represented Team Albany Adaptive Sports in the games that involved hundreds of competitors ranging in age from 22 to the 80s.
"I did pretty good considering I competed against younger people," Sicko, a former Samaritan Hospital and Stratton VA Medical Center nurse, said.
