ALBANY -- The Neville Brothers kicked off their "Alive at Five" appearance Thursday with "Fire on the Bayou," the ersatz title track of the band's breakthrough 1981 album, "Fiyo on the Bayou."
Truth be told, it took the Nevilles a while to truly catch fire in Albany.
After the one-two punch of "Fire" and "Voodoo," it became brother Aaron's show for quite a stretch, with the gossamer-voiced, heavily tattooed legend crooning pop tunes like "Everybody Plays The Fool," "Fever," "Use Me" and 1966 solo hit "Tell It Like It Is."
Critics have long spent their supply of adjectives to describe the honeyed thrill of Aaron's voice. They haven't used much ...
