SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 1998--SuperDisk(TM) consortium members Mitsubishi Electronics America Inc. and Maxell Corp. of America, today announced retail availability of the Maxell PCMCIA SuperDisk LS-120 drive.
At 12.7 mm (half inch) in height and weighing only 10 ounces, the Maxell drive is a compact external drive based on Mitsubishi's slimline SuperDisk design for notebook personal computers. The SuperDisk technology behind the Maxell drive provides consumers with a mass storage option that holds up to 120 Mbytes while still reading from and writing to traditional 1.44-Mbyte, 3.5-inch diskettes.
