The Virginian-Pilot
An entertaining but muddled trifle, "The Girl From Monaco" can't seem to decide what it wants to be. Is it a comedy? Is it a tragedy? Is it a thriller? A romance? A love story?
It has aspects of each.
With abrupt changes of pace from courtroom drama to nighttime flirtations, it is decidedly at its best (which is not all that great) in its comedic moments. It forces a stuffy, successful, middle-aged lawyer to partner with a darkly handsome, gruff and grouchy bodyguard.
