FORT WAYNE--May 12--Grand Wayne Center and the main Allen County Public Library are both running out of space.
Now the city is looking at how the two downtown attractions can coordinate their hoped-for expansions and give a boost to the west side of the center of the city.
The Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission expects to choose from among four bidders to develop what executive director Ron Fletcher calls a mini-urban plan for a 10-square-block area. By late in this summer, the commission hopes to have a rough draft on the table to start talking about what direction downtown can take next.
