Royal Dutch Shell Plc and National Grid Plc joined Scottish Power Ltd. s campaign to win U.K. funding for a carbon capture and storage project, as Britain seeks to curb emissions from coal-fueled electricity generation.
The partners, which include Aker Solutions ASA, will bid for government support to strip out carbon dioxide produced at Scotland s Longannet power plant and pipe it into offshore reservoirs from 2014, Scottish Power said today in a statement.
