Galoc Production Co. (GPC) restarted production from the Galoc oil field at 8:30 a.m. local time on Aug. 13 following the reconnection of the mooring and riser system to floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) Rubicon Intrepid. The Galoc field is in SC14-C in 951 feet (290 m) of water offshore the Philippines.
The original disconnection, which occurred in late June, was due to adverse weather conditions associated with Tropical Storm Nanagka (Feria).
