Dr. Neil N. Citron, a retired general surgeon who resided in Syracuse for over 30 years, peacefully passed away at home on August 14, 2009, in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Dr. Citron was born in New York City on April 13, 1933, and was raised in Scarsdale, New York. He graduated from Scarsdale High School in 1950 and attended Dartmouth College. During his junior year at Dartmouth, Dr. Citron applied to medical school for matriculation in the upcoming fall class even though he had not completed his undergraduate degree.
