Article: Ecumenical cable channel seeks partners.(Odyssey)

As the Odyssey channel marks its 10th anniversary, leaders of the nation's only ecumenical venture in religious cable television said it must find new partners to move forward in an increasingly competitive industry.

Various stakeholders in the channel came together April 20 in New York, where Lee Hindery Jr., president of Telecommunications Inc., said that the network must enhance its programming so that it can become part of the basic cable package that every cable system offers, alongside channels such as TNT and USA. Tele-Communications Inc., or TCI, is the cable giant that created Odyssey's forerunner, the Faith and Values Channel, in 1988.
