Generally speaking, the words media and moral only nuzzle up against each other these days in sentences that also feature terms like "boycott," "protest" and "outrage." The prevailing assumption is that popular culture is inherently amoral, responding only to commercial measures of success, while it is the province of its critics to bring a moral perspective.
The truth, however, is that most creative people view themselves and their work in strongly moral terms. They crave commercial success, certainly -- but they want to achieve it with the respect of their colleagues and peers, and that means honoring the values of their profession.
