Bilateral trade between Oman and India is growing steadily and if the recent trade figures are any indication, "it is set to reach $ 2.5 billion by the end of 2009", according to Ambassador of India Anil Wadhwa. "The volume of Indo-Oman bilateral trade was US$ 447 million during January-February 2009 against $ 398.7 million in the same period last year", said the ambassador in an exclusive interview with the Observer on India's 63rd Independence Day celebrations.
