ALSTOM says it has been selected as preferred technical bidder for a framework contract which, if all options are exercised, could see it supply up to 1000 regional trains for use across France over the next 10 years.
The multiple units will be procured by French National Railways (SNCF) on behalf of the French regions, which will specify the number of trains required and provide all of the necessary finance. A minimum order will be placed for 100 single-deck trains with options for up to an additional 900.
