Jeffrey Scott Rand of Houston and his company, Wave Energy Corp., formerly of Hot Springs, each have been pushed into Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the Southern District of Texas.
The claims against Rand total $2.5 million from several creditors who have judgments against him. The same creditors and amounts are listed in Wave Energy's bankruptcy.
One of the creditors is the Rand Energy Co. of Longview, Texas, which has a claim for $547,000. It is unclear what ties that company has to the Rand family, if any.
In late 2006, the Arkansas Securities Department ordered Rand and Wave to stop selling securities in Arkansas ...
