TIWI, Albay, Aug. 6 (PNA) -- This geothermal-rich town that plays host to a giant energy exploration facility producing some 175 megawatts power is on a festive mood as it goes deeper into the celebration of Coron Festival, a month-long yearly festivity designed to promote the local tourism industry.
The municipality located at the northeastern tip of Albay nestling along the southwestern coastline of Lagonoy Gulf is well-known for its pottery industry thus, Coron (earthen pot) was adopted as name of the festival that showcases the creativity of homegrown talents in crafting native products out of baked clay.
